I have been referring patients to Dr Ahmed since he opened his practice in 2006.

I have referred nearly 100 patients in the last 4 years.

My typical referral is someone who has spent time working with my hygienists to try to resolve their periodontal disease and who has achieved improvements but who still has residual pocketing.

 

My experience is that some of my patients respond very positively to Dr Ahmed’s initial consultation and accept all of his treatment recommendations. These patients return after their treatment, full of praise for Dr Ahmed and his team. Their periodontal health is significantly improved and they have a new found sense of responsibility for their own dental and periodontal health.

Some of my patients return from their initial consultation stating they do not like Dr Ahmed or his treatment recommendations. I have noticed a pattern which is that patients who struggle to accept my advice often struggle to accept Dr Ahmed’s advice. These patients tend to respond more favourably towards my future recommendations once they have been for a consultation with Dr Ahmed and some return back to him for treatment once they finally accept they do actually have gum disease.

 

Since referring to Dr Ahmed I have realised that his unique selling point is the way that he actively reinforces my restorative recommendations and enhances my patients’ understanding of why I have made certain restorative recommendations. I have seen a significant increase in uptake of my restoratives treatments in the patients who have been to Dr Ahmed. Dr Ahmed does not poach any of my restorative or implant dentistry and actively encourages my patients to return to me for their treatment. On more than one occasion a patient has asked Dr Ahmed to complete additional treatment not requested by my referral. On each occasion Dr Ahmed has politely refused and directed the patient back to my practice.

 

I have learnt a great deal from Dr Ahmed over the years and it has helped me enormously.
